The Secrets My Husband Keeps

Here I was, again, knocking on another strange door that would be answered by some unknown woman. 

I would start off the way that I always did, unsure of myself.  Then the confidence would kick in and I would remember my training; be smart, be calm, be collected.  It is never easy, reminding a woman of a man who broke her heart.  Nevertheless, this was all necessary; I needed to understand who he was, in order to figure out who he is.

    “Hello, I am sorry to bother you, but for the last twelve years, I have been deliriously happy.  I am married to a wonderful man who treats me better than I could ever imagine.  Except, the day after our twelfth wedding anniversary…he disappeared.  I have a feeling that you know what that is like.

    My name is Viviana Pratt, I am an agent with the FBI and have been for the past fifteen years.  I am looking for my husband, Ethan Pratt, though you probably know him by a different name.  If you do not mind, I have some questions for you…”
